Twas The Night Before Christmas (Philly Style)
In keeping with the holiday season, I'm posting an updated version of Henry Livingston Jr.'s "Twas The Night Before Christmas" by a Philadelphia-based gentleman named Roy Zeigler. I think one will be moved by this even if they have no idea that Bernie Parent was the goalie for the '72-'73 Philadelphia Flyers.

A KISS FANTASY
When I was a kid I was a huge fan of the rock group Kiss. In my defense I will state that I just didn't know any better.

In my early thrities I rediscovered Kiss and have had a perverse fascination with them ever since. While I would never consider myself to still be a fan of their records (I no longer own any), I do purchase just about every book about them that comes out.

The following diatribe was written after I completed Gene Simmons' recent book SEX, MONEY, KISS, wherein Gene states several times that the band's fans are his bosses.

This got me thinking. Wouldn't it be great if....

I Don't Like Most Things
Friends,

All my life I have found that most things annoy me. Not all, just most. I have tried and tried to find a way to live with these things but its gotten harder and harder. I have tried all kinds of therapies and gurus but nothing seems to work.

UNTIL NOW.

I played on a barstool
During my senior year of high school I joined a band called Quagmire. The group was comprised of myself and four of the smartest guys in my school. Instrumental prowess was not in abundance and we were punk rock by default (we even covered "Minor Threat"). I think they asked me to join because I was the only drummer they knew.
